After having read an article on my entry into the “Great Guitar Build Off 2021” in a local newspaper I was contacted by Tine Klop, a student at the Dutch photography school. (Fotovakschool), if she could do a photoshoot here in the workshop of me working on one of my guitars as part of her assignment for her final exam.

Of course I didn’t say no to such a proposal.
Not only was I able to help someone completing her study but I now have some beautiful pictures to show and use here on the Unquendor Guitars website.

After reading a newspaper article about Daniel van Veen and his hobby that got out of hand, I sent him an email asking if I could follow and photograph him while making a guitar. Daniel reacted enthusiastically to this and we spent many hours in the workshop behind his house.
From 3 pieces of beautiful wood to a playable guitar .... it is a process of 150 hours on average. We discussed which actions were interesting to photograph. I got my inspiration from watching Daniel's videos on You Tube. He shares the making of a guitar with his followers.
His passion for this beautiful profession also inspired me. It was always a joy to photograph with Daniel in his workshop. His stories were always equally interesting to listen to. I followed this cycle with amazement.
It is a great achievement if you, like Daniel, manage to make an instrument from 3 pieces of wood, it is a beautiful craft."
